Recently announced by the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, the Trail Center will be renamed to reflect broader pine barrens, sportspersons, and outdoor recreational pursuits.
Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference (LIGTC) opened Trail Center in 1995. Twenty years later, it closed due to lack of resources. Brookhaven Bicycle (BB) under agreement recently abandoned it. LIGTC in a stronger position has requested a new license agreement with SC Parks.
